The Beast Blocker® – The Ultimate Entrance Protector for Your Beehive
At Beast Blocker®, we believe this is the most effective entrance protector for your beehive. Period.
With the Beast Blocker® installed, you can:
-
Stop hornets and wasps from sneaking in, stealing honey, and killing brood.
-
Prevent robbing bees from overwhelming guard bees and stealing honey.
-
Keep mice out so they can’t eat your honey, pollen, or beeswax.
-
Minimize bee drift, reducing the spread of varroa mites, AFB, and EFB.
-
Protect against predators that attack guard bees, keeping your colony strong.
-
Easily seal the hive entrance while maintaining excellent front ventilation.
How It Works
-
The Beast Blocker® trains your bees to make a 90° turn when exiting the hive.
-
They crawl up the front of the brood box, while invaders—drawn by the hive’s scent—remain confused and unable to enter.
Note: This product is designed for wooden hive floors and is fully compatible with our New Hive Defender Floor, which also acts as a wasp trap for extra protection.
Installation Guide
For best results, install the Beast Blocker® early in the morning before bees begin flying.
What’s Included?
-
Translucent front plate
-
Two colored entrance gates (pre-installed) that can swing open or click fully shut
-
7 screws (1 long, 6 short)
-
Score marks for trimming to fit 8-frame hives
Step-by-Step Installation
-
Prepare your tools – Have a square-drive screwdriver ready.
-
Check the parts – Ensure the entrance gates are snapped in place and you have all screws.
-
Position the Beast Blocker® – Place it against the hive entrance with the gates closed. Ensure the bottom grill is flush against the landing board.
-
Secure the center screw first – Lightly thread the long screw through the center hole, then fully screw it in place.
-
Attach the side screws – Use the 6 short screws to firmly secure the blocker, ensuring the base plate and gates sit flush against the hive.
Your bees will quickly adjust to the new entrance system and orient themselves using the colored gates.
What to Expect After Installation
-
Your bees may gather at the front of the hive differently.
-
Instead of “bearding” (hanging in a mass on hot days), they will form a “plume” above the entrance to cool off.
-
This is normal, and they will return inside in the evening.
