Full Depth Plastic Frames (Beeswax Coated, 33mm or 35mm End Bar Width)

Since 2000, we have been proudly manufacturing plastic frames in New Zealand using virgin food-grade plastic from our own custom dies. As pioneers in the industry, we invented the black plastic frame, now the worldwide standard. The black colour helps beekeepers easily spot white eggs and young larvae in the cells.

  • Carton Size: 50 Frames per carton
  • Pallet Size: 800 frames per pallet (16 cartons per pallet)

Why Choose Plastic?

Plastic frames are more durable, efficient, and cost-effective than traditional wooden frames. They don't blow out in the extractor, preserving good drawn comb and saving the bees energy. This leads to a higher surplus of honey for beekeepers.

We offer Full Depth Plastic Frames with two different end bar widths:

  • 33mm (New Zealand standard)
  • 35mm (Most common for Australia and North America)

Beeswax Coating

The frames come pre-coated with a thin layer of beeswax to encourage the bees to draw the comb. If you'd like to coat them yourself—an ideal winter project—we offer uncoated frames. Additionally, we sell beeswax for coating purposes.

Custom Colours

We can mould frames in any colour to assist beekeepers with comb age monitoring, helping to discard comb after several years. Coloured food-grade plastics come at an additional cost due to the higher price of the coloured plastic.
