Ceracells New 23 Frame Bench Hive,
Are you a hobby beekeeper ready to improve the way your home apiary works? Are you tired of bending over and having to lift and move heavy bee boxes? Do you want flexibility in managing and working frames to keep your hives healthy?
Then the Ceracell Bench Hive is ideal for you! It is fixed to a purpose built stand to hold the hive at waist height. It is the equivalent of two standard bee boxes wide and has the advantage of multiple entrances that can each be securely closed off. So you can run the one “hive” as a super-colony or divide up the interior to run up to four colonies in the one piece of woodware. It will take two honey supers sitting side-by-side on top so it works easily with existing woodware.
This is a beautiful set up that our in-house beekeeper has trialled for a number of years to get it just right. It will make your beekeeping more fun and productive.
Bees just love Bench hives, we have trialed 15 bench hives and found the bees do really well, not only over wintering but building up and maintaining a strong population in the summer and winter months. We have put in four entrance discs to allow your hive to increase its bee flow when the hives population demands or reduce the hives entrances when the hives population is contracting. At the height of summer we call it running on all four cylinders as the entrances are fully open and the hive is in top gear pulling in loads of pollen and nectar. When the hive is really going well you can add two honey supers above, simply add two standard 10 frame excluders and you are good to go.
