The 5-frame slimline series is a great way to maintain the ease of a nuc while being able to manipulate the boxes.
The 5-frame slimline box allows you to move the box as well as put multiple 5-frame box's on top. This means that if you want your nuc to gain more strength before moving them into a 10-frame box you can, compared to a nuc box which isolates and traps the hive for easy moving and quick population growth.
Because the slimline box is elevated on the floor unlike the nuc box which is attached directly to the floor, the bees are able to have a greater area to land and takeoff, creating greater flow of bees coming and going from the hive compared to a normal nuc box with a nuc entrance and disc.
