Folded Galvanised Steel Lid 0.55 gauge Sprung Ends (Open Corner), Perfect for the 5 frame nuc hive.
This is a lid for a 5-frame slimline nuc or hive.
The Sprung corner lid is the most popular choice as it allow better grip to the hive so is less likely to be blown off. As well as it does not create a vacuum like the closed corner lid can sometimes do, making the sprung end easier to remove from the hive.
Be sure that a hive mat/crown board/ceiling is placed on to the hive before the lid as the bees will propolis the lid down and make it extremely difficult to remove. The hive mat will also provide extra insulation to protect the hive from hot and cold temperatures.
