6-Frame Extractor Reversible - Electric, Tangential

This unit is a 6-Frame Electric Motor Driven Honey Extractor, Stainless Steel, Reversible, Tangential Extractor; suitable for Langstroth Full Depth, 3/4 depth, and 1/2 depth frames. The extractor has a sloping/self-draining bottom. The Gear Box is fitted with metal helical cut gears and lubricated with food-grade grease. A clear acrylic cover is bolted to and hinged off a cross bar. The outlet has a 40mm / 1-1/2 inch nylon honey gate.  The frame baskets which swing to show the full side of the frame to the outside of the drum are made of composite stainless steel and robust injection moulded nylon.

This is a particularly nice SAF manufactured unit, with a speed controller on the motor.  Dimensionally much larger than a typical hobbyist unit, but would suit a serious hobbyist or semi-commercial operator.  The reversible feature is a major time saver which is what you need when you have upwards of 100 hives to deal with. It has all the advantages of the tangential extractor too, so it will get 99% of the honey out of the comb which is how you make money.  Certainly more expensive than the standard hobbyist unit, but for the right operator a cost effective investment.

Make sure you thoroughly clean the unit at the end of the season and then re-grease the gears and central bottom bearing with food grade grease.
