Ideal for production of comb honey since it has the least amount of wax for a given surface area, making your comb honey easier to eat and less chewy. Also bleached to best show off the unique colours of your honey and match the nearly white cappings wax the bee uses to finish off your comb honey.
The 3/4 depth size is the right size to use in 3/4 depth wooden hoffman standard frames. If planning for comb honey, don't wire your frames. Then "fix" the foundation in the groove of the top bar with some melted beeswax. You may also want to try and get the bees to fill the wooden frame themselves! Cut the 3/4 depth foundation into long 20mm wide strips and just fix the narrow strip in the frame groove. Usually the bees will then use the starter strip and fill the frame nicely with honey comb. 3/4 depth frames are about the deepest with which you will want to try this, since in full depth frames there is more likelihood that the comb will turn out distorted.
