The Nuc Box (short for Nucleus Colony Box) is designed for raising splits or capturing swarms. This versatile box is perfect for small colonies, making it a valuable tool for beekeepers looking to manage or expand their apiaries.

Features:

• 5-Frame Capacity: The 5-frame Nuc Box (frames not included, but we offer wood frames and foundation, as well as plastic frames, both waxed or unwaxed) allows flexibility for hive management. Alternatively, use four frames with a single division feeder to meet specific needs.
• Solid Construction: This box features a hive mat (crown board, inner cover, ceiling), along with sprung ends and a galvanised lid (roof, top, cap) for secure protection and easy transport.
• Entrance Disc: The metal entrance disc (our own design) provides excellent bee access control with three settings:
  • Full Open: Allows free movement of the bees in and out.
  • Queen Excluder: Permits only worker bees to exit or enter, keeping the queen secure inside.
  • Ventilation: Helps keep all bees inside, perfect for ensuring a swarm settles or when transporting the colony securely.

The Nuc Box is sold untreated, but you can apply treatment to extend its life. We offer copper naphthenate and paraffin wax for wood protection.
