This is the bee ladder for the 3-Frame internal division feeder. You get TWO pieces for the stated price to make up the complete bee ladder to fully enclose the top of the feeder. This product, designed by Trevor Cullen, injection molded in New Zealand in our own die, with 100% virgin food grade plastic. A New Zealand winner.
The purpose of the bee ladder is to give the bees something to cling to as they access the syrup, but also to restrict somewhat the access to the syrup. It is best if the syrup is taken up over a period of time, rather than letting the bees gorge themselves in a day or two. The ladder will minimise drowning, but you will still get a few dead bees no matter what. The bee ladder then makes it easy to remove the dead bees to prevent contamination of the feed.
